- 2 tins tuna, well drained
- 1/2 cup finely diced white onion
- 1 large apple, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup pickled radish slices (recipe below - can also use sweet pickles)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup low fat Hellman's Mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 4 whole wheat kaiser buns, split
- 2 cups thinly sliced radishes
- 1⁄2 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp mirin (optional but good)
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
Directions
- Mix the tuna, onion, apple, radish, pepper, and mayonnaise together in a large bowl.
- Place the buns onto a baking sheet and place under the broiler just until they begin to toast.
- Remove from the oven and spread each bun half with the tuna mixture and top with cheese.
- Broil another minute or so until the cheese is bubbly.
