Whiskey Sour

Ingredients for the Lemon Simple Syrup

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh mint leaves 
  • 2 cups water 
  •  2 cups granulated sugar 
  • zest of one lemon 
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice 
Directions 
  1. Bring the water, sugar, and lemon zest to the boil and boil until the sugar is dissolved. 
  2. Remove from heat. Add the mint leaves, cover and let steep for 10 minutes. 
  3. Strain the simple syrup into a large mason jar or a bottle and add the fresh lemon juice. 
  4.  Refrigerate for up to one month. 
Ingredients for the Whiskey Sour
  • 2 ounces bourban
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 3 tbsp lemon simple syrup
  • Ice
Directions
Place all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Give it  good shake and serve in a cocktail glass with additional ice.
