Pineapple Aloha Burgers

Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup finely diced jalapeno pepper
  • 1 tsp kosher or sea salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple Philadelphia Cream Cheese *or* 1/4 cup cream cheese mixed with 1/4 cup   crushed pineapple.
  • 1 small can pineapple rings
  • 1 BBQ sauce of your choice
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 sprig of basil for garnish
  • 1 leaf lettuce

Directions
  1. Mix the ground beef together with the salt, pepper, japapeno, and garlic.
  2. Divide ground beef into five equal portions.
  3. Form four portions into patties and make a well in the centre of each. Place a tablespoon of the pineapple cream cheese into the well, smooth out and flatten, and top with an equal amount of the ground beef from the fifth portion. Seal to form into a patty (as per the video)
  4. Grill the hamburgers on 400 for 6-7 minutes a side.
  5. Toast four buns, grill four pineapple rings.
  6. Brush patties generously with BBQ sauce of your choice, spread toasted buns with mayonnaise, and serve with a pineapple ring atop each pattie and some lettuce.
